Though we love to ask people what their favorite things are in life,
God’s word is clear that showing favoritism toward one human opposed to another is sin. Especially if favoritism is applied because of a particular outward appearance. Sin produces selfishness; selfishness produces favoritism and favoritism distorts and devalues the reality that all human beings are made in the image and likeness of God. All human beings are made by the same God with the same ultimate purpose; to love God and love others. Therefore, God does not have a favorite version of humanity. He longs to transform the selfish version of us.
